Troube Starting Help

This morning when I tried to fire up the bronco, I noticed a very slight hesitaton before she cranked right up, I did not think anything about until I got to the gas station and tried to start it again. When i tried to start it again it would not crank. It was turning over and I could hear the fuel pump (SEFI) running. It was turning over but not cranking. So now I am at work, and the Bronco is sittiing at the gas station. The Bronco has ran great for over two years now since I completed the EFI conversion. I have not driven the Bronco in about a month, but I have been running the engine in the driveway (I fired her last week). I was just wondering were I should start trouble shooting, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It cranks, but does not start, correct? Start with the basics fuel and spark.
Check for spark at the coil. If it doesn't, the first thing I would suspect is a ign module or dist pickup. Check fuel pressure. If you don't have access to a tester you can push the schrader valve down on the fuel rail. DO you have any fuel there, or does it release some trapped air? You might try cycling the key a few times and pushing the valve down. I had a problem with mine after a couple of years where a fuel clamp came loose and was drawing air in. It was very frustrating to diagnose as it was intermittent.

After you got it started, did it run normally? Do you have a check engine light hooked up? Is it on?

I went to work on the bronco last night and tried to crank it up, and it cranked right up. All I can think is that it must be a loose wire.

Its also possible that it is a module. They are known to fail when they get warm, and start working again after they cool off.

are you running an MSD box?

i welded on my truck once and forgot to disconnect the box and it would shut off once it got warm, like Rcrawler said about the module.

had another MSD box fail the same way, but just from age.
