Well I thrashed my truck hunting , side swiped a tree on a frozen creek at a wicked angle, but enough of that! I found a yellow sewage sucker truck at a golf course and was able to get the whole truck for $500. What a score, the rear doors are excellent shape! and the cab is in way better shape so I started a cab swap! I have to find some new front doors as mine are shot, they should be easy to find, but there is a old ford shortage in town. I saw about 5 at a farm so I am going to pay him a visit. The grey one is a 1974 and the new yellow one is a 1979!
It should hopefully be done by spring. I am just going to sand blast the whole thing Saturday then off to body work. I bought new cab corners and a driver floor pan. That really looks like the damage, with the little rott on the roof line, I will grind that out and weld in a new strip, then cat the whole thing from the inside with POR15 I hope that works. After it is retired from Hunting, I would like to doll it up for the road so I want to make sure it doesn't rust out again.
wish me luck!
Yah I screwed up with the pic's for sure! I will post some action shots for sure. I have a couple. I just got the truck blasted today. it is always rougher when you get the paint off. I will update those shots too. It is a blast to drive in the bush, especially with the rear locker and chains.
