I wish I could add more. I'm quoting what I was told by an engineer from Ford (same kind of job as MediumDan) back when I ordered my 2009 and was wondering the same thing. He went by PowerstrokeHD here on FTE and was a FANTASTIC asset to the forums years back. He lost his job at Ford. I hope Dan didn't get in trouble posting here...
Hey, you told us the Ford reasoning behind it so you get the prize for the right answer.

Just got the new part numbers this morning although they won't be in the books for a while. I am hoping to not have to add air bags between the combination of heavier springs and the Stable Loads to keep the camper upright.
My Big Wig rear was adjustable, 3 levels and the least firm was just a shade over OEM. I am not an airbag fan to much albeit have had them on 2 rigs and they worked great, but they should be a last buy and not a first IMO, in most cases, save your money...

Thanks, I guessed that, but did not know. Have only seen one '17, and today I get to see a '17 King Ranch, dealer called and one came in.
just looked at a ’17 F-350 with the camper package. the rear sway bar is very nice how it comes from the factory. very clean install. the bar attaches to the axle on the lower shock mount perches and the endlink sides attach very nicely to a bracket on the outsides of the frame. IMO a much cleaner install than the big wig on my GMC.
the sway bar itself is much smaller.

I would love to see a picture. I suppose the sway bar diameter is chosen to provide a good balance between the front and rear of the truck?

Pic's? Im thinking about adding the sway bar myself.
WOW, thats a huge difference! I have air bags on my current super duty. They do the job but I'm thinking they add to the side to side sway that you feel when a tractor trailer passes you on the interstate. Before I had air bags I had a lighter camper and I used Timbrens to level it. The amount of sway from vehicles passing me was virtually nothing. I have a theory that because the Timbrens contact the axle, that extra contact point is reducing the amount the truck can move side to side. I think the only wiggle I can see when I tested it by pushing back and forth on the truck was the side to side movement in the sidewalls of the tires. So my theory is that the Timbrens, while not adjustable like the air bags, nor do they ride as good if the truck is only lightly loaded enough to just cause them to lightly touch the axle, that the Timbrens actually help reduce side to side sway more then air bags. On round track cars we used to run Track bars to control this. I'm hoping that the factory sway bar will control my body roll but if not, after seeing this picture it will be Big Wig here I come!

I ran the same setup: Timbrens for 3 days, Firestone Air for 14 years and a change to the BigWig the last 10 years. The F250 still should have had more help, such as heavier front springs (or another leaf) and the upper overload. The problem I find with the Air Ride is that to get the truck level the entire load is on the air bags and they have a tendency to lean quite a bit. I just ordered the Torklift Stable loads even before the F350 is here based on the reviews and videos. I am hoping that will be the only mod I need. Maybe not as fancy as a compressor and a gauge on the dash but I believe they will perform to a higher standard. You should look into them before making any other firm commitments.
The stable loads are an excellent product indeed Rob. Did you do the upper and lower or just starting with the lowers?
I just ordered the lowers to start with. Torklift confirmed that the models #s are the same as last years. Found a brand new used set (open box) on Amazon for $60 off, but all there and not used. Also ordered the new camper tie downs from ETrailer since the prototyping is done and production starts next week. My pile of parts is growing!
Did your run the lowers or uppers too Rodney? I like the ability to turn the lowers off when not carrying the camper. I also like the idea of steel springs under the 3500-4000 lb load rather than light duty airbags working at close to their maximum. I maybe over emphasizing my opinion that air bags are actually replacing the springs when bringing the load back up even close to level. The springs do no more if the truck was empty at that point. This should be different with the 4" blocks and rake (no pictures, sorry) and will settle down to level, I hope.

this is great to hear. i called torklift 2 weeks ago and they said they were waiting to get their hands on a truck. tie downs is one of the first mods I will need to do to the truck.
any idea if they are ready to do a new hitch? I will eventually need a super hitch with a dual receiver so I can tow my boat with the camper loaded. I need to run the super truss extension

I had the Talon tie downs and they are truly the very best, well designed and strong, I also had the Fast Gun lever action connectors to the tie downs, the camper did not move...
