Starter problems
Hey guys, new to this site and new to powerstroke. But anyways, im having a problem with my starter. Most times it starts right up but every now and then (more often when hot) the starter will spin but not engage. Any ideas on a possible solution? Thanks

Automatic, remove inspection plate and see if flywheel is straight when cranking
Either one, remove all battery terminals and scrape inside and scrape the posts with a knife to remove invisible lead corrosion. remove starter wire and clean connection. remove engine grounds on front and clean them up too.
If it persists after then a new starter Is needed.
Rockauto.com has a new TYC SD gear reduction style for about 115 bucks shipped

We put on the HD starter from summit racing and it makes a big difference. Turns it over like it's nothing.
