I just recently bought my first Ford Truck...Happy as a pig in slop.
But yesterday my starter went out on it. I want to d othe replacemtn my self. Does anybody have a good source on where I can get the instructions on how to do the repair, or any advice or experience would be greatly apprciated.

the process is pretty straight forward, the starter should be on the passenger side bottom of hte engine. If you have access to tools such as wrenches or sockets you can remove and install if fairly easily. There is one bolt that holds the starter wire to the starter and two bolts that hold the starter to the transmission. Just be careful to support the weight of the starter as you remove the bolts. They are usually pretty heavy, especially if it comes flying at your face. You can disconnect the battery if it helps you feel safer, most manuals recommend it. I don't. Disconnect the ground (-) side of the battery. Hope this helps.
