I've removed the starter wire and the bottom bolt. It still seems to be attached somewhere above the starter. However when I look at the replacement starter there doesn't appear to be anywhere else that is threaded. Any ideas on why I can't remove this part?

There is a thin metal piece that seems to be between the starter and the engine block. It wraps all the way from the passenger side(where the starter is at) to the driver's side. Do I need to remove this piece? There doesn't seem to be a gasket getween the thin piece and the starter or the motor.

 

There is two bolts holding that starter in, find the other bolt and the starter should come out. Broken Wire

 

Yeah, I suspected as much. I just couldn't seem to find it. It seems connected on the top side where the starter wire goes. I guess I'll try again on Saturday, I was racing daylight this evening and I lost the race.
