I just purchased a 1976 F-150 from the original owner, my Ford salesman since I was 16. He owned his own dealership and ordered this new for himself. It has been in his garage it's whole life and has 80,000 miles on it. He added a lot of custom accessories that I may remove as I am thinking of putting it back to original. Just some small body things to smooth out and then it's on to restoration. I will share pics as I go.
As she sits today
Has the toolbix
Some customization
This is the most original picture he had for reference
Congrats on the score! Looks like a heck of a sweet truck.
Myself, everything that is gold would have to go, right after the expanded metal over the brake lights, the pin stripe. Then all of the interior, and then relocate or lose that air horn.
But it does look like a good solid truck, And it even looks like it's been in a garage. It was well loved, and you can tell it.

Unk Bob
Yes I agree on the gold and he even has a white plastic bed liner in it! He had dura liner make it just for the truck. I think it will take his heart when I take all the gold off of it. First thing is putting the original grill back in it. On the look out for a 76 split grill and surround!
Can I just say how jealous I am. I would love to have a bicentennial truck. Not a fan of that aftermarket sunroof though. I would suggest not ditching those factory tie down hooks. But I personally would have them re-chromed.

I mainly bought it because I knew where it came from and it is solid solid solid. He just went nuts with the gold. I am going to start with paint, new eagle decals, and a new '76 split grill. Then I have to figure out the rest. That sunroof is....something else.
But the engine is amazing he had his shop bore it .10 put in a performance carb and RV cam.
I will probably have to leave the roof and take everything else back to stock.
Going to go look at this bump side as well and maybe have two projects at once!

Wow, I didn't even notice that white bed liner in there.
The patch on the heater air box says that a pushrod (or perhaps head and pushrod) has been away from home. Not a deal beaker, by any means, but something to be aware of
All that gold! I don't care for the gold, but I do like that style tie-down
And that Bedliner? Looks like a chest freezer tub!
Cosmetic stuff and personal preference aside, looks like a great score!

Every AC truck I've seen has that patch on the heater/evaporator box (my own 78 F250 included). Don't think it is from a thrown pushrod. So why are they patched?
To the OP - nice looking truck with perhaps a little too much bling. Make it your own and enjoy it.
