Issue with Starting
2008 FX4 5.4
Tried to start my truck this morning and no go, starter didnt even engage but all accessories getting good power. I noticed a slight hesitation in starting it yesterday but barely noticeable. No other symptoms. Took battery in and they said it was bad. Put in new battery and no changes, still getting power to acc. but wont even try to start. I do have a leak in my roof that drips down onto my steering wheel and we did get about 1/2 an inch of rain last night, so I'm thinking this may have shorted-out an ignition wire. It has caused my horn to go off in the past, but never affected the ignition. I see some water on and in steering column but not huge amounts. I know you're telling yourself, what a dipsh*#, just get your leak fixed. Well Ive tried researching this issue multiple times on the forums and all the fixes I have tried don't help.
On to the issue at hand...Anyone have suggestions for testing the ignition to make sure the wiring in the steering column isn't the problem? I've tried a blow dryer to dry up connections but no luck yet.

For anyone else who has this issue, I kept hair dryer on my steering column for a solid 5 minutes. Truck started right up. I guess it just needed to be dried out really well.
On another note, anyone have a suggestion for fixing this leak? I have tried the following fixes: cleaning sunroof drains, third brake light replacement, applied silicone to plastic roof antenna (I think its for sat-radio).
