Recently,my 96 F-150 is just clicking when I turn the key, sometimes it will fire, other times just a click. The starter was new less than 2 years ago and I put a new solenoid on the firewall yesterday.Weird thing is,with the truck stopped, sometimes when I lock the steering wheel it fires. It almost acts like the problem is originating in the steering column or the ignition itself.
I am going to get underneath the truck and clean up all the connections but what I have noticed when I try to start the truck and it clicks it will start immediately when I cross the solenoid.I have a connection problem somewhere I just need to find it.
