Happened to me also but I can't remember if it was my truck or a jeep cherokee. Both have tilt wheel and my problem was 3 or 4 screws that held the tilt knuckle together. I removed the horn button and was able to use a 1/4" flex and torx to fish my way in and tighten them. The story book will probably tell you to disassemble the truck, but my way worked. Hopefully someone will chime in with some step by steps.
That's the reply I was hoping to get. Thanks Dave! I'll look into that. I didn't want to tear all the way into the steering column because my mechanic worrked on it years ago because the ignition switch got to where it wouldn't start the truck & he had to replace this funky looking part. I think that problem is comeing back Anyhow he said it was a mess in there.
You're mech probably realized how much of a mess it was and tried to hurry out (thus the loose screws). That problem coming back is more than likely the ign switch itself 9located farther down the column and easily accessed) sliding in it's mount. Just have to loosen the 2 nuts, slide it into place, and tighten them down.
