Accelerator Pedal

65 F100 CC with 3sp. OD. C5TA-9735-B, obtained from the back of the accelerator pedal, the type with the 2 holes in the heal of the pedal that mounts to the floor. This accelerator pedal has been on the truck since I purchased numerous years ago. The foot finally broke away from the heal but in searching thru Ford catalogs the picture describes as correct for 61-63, apparently not correct for the 65. Could it be due to the OD switch mounted on the 65 firewall, if so, any suggestions on locating a suitable replacement?

Suggestions/Comments Appreciated!

Had the same problem not long ago. Try Green sales. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...tz-9735-b.html My truck was originally a 3sp. OD also. But the linkage isn't any different than the non-OD ones in my parts trucks. I looked over the C1TZ-9735-C I got from Carpenter and there is a chance it will work if you remove those rubber ears from the back of it.

No.
Original 1965 part number (the one your truck has):

C5TZ-9735-B .. Accelerator Pedal / Obsolete/Replaced

1965 F100/250 2WD before serial number 696,001 (from serial number 696,001 .. the pedal is suspended).

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 10 = 800-543-4959.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The C5TZ-9735-B pedal was replaced at some point by FoMoCo with C1TZ-9735-C / Reproduced

The original applications: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD - 1961/66 F350/1100 - 1966 F250 4WD

Now faced with the same dilemma as Crop Duster, Green's at $45, or DC at half that??? Probly go with Green's since, appears in Bill's post the C5TZ-9735-B is the correct for my truck, possibly not modification on the pedal required?

Thank U's for the information and links!!

Green has 10 of the original C5TZ-9735-B part number. I wasn't able to find anyone else that has it.

If you want the C1TZ-9735-C replacement part number, there are over 1,000 (!) available from multiple sources.

I guarantee that you do not want to know what the last MSRP was for C1TZ-9735-C!

If understand post, appears the C5TZ-9735-B, would be the correct application for 2wd, probably go with Green's.

It was .. until FoMoCo replaced it with C1TZ-9735-C

Pic: Scroll down to 9735 .. Look at the 9th entry in column right: C5TZ-9735-B

Note what it says under the description: repl (replaced) by C1TZ-9735-C (10-74).

C1TZ-9735-C pedal

Let me know if that pedal works on your truck. This is what the backside of it is going to look like. Not at all like the original 65. But you may be able to whittle it down and make it work. There might have been some sort of shop bulletin sent to the dealers telling the mechanics how to install it.

That looks just like the backside of the pedal on both of my 1966 F250 4WD trucks. I also have an NOS C1TZ-9735-C from Green's that I bought back in January 2013 that I have sitting next to my original on the bench and they are near spitting images other than the number molded into the rubber. I wonder what changed?

On the back side of each is FoMoCo in a small oval molded into the rubber along with these numbers

Original -
C1TT-9735-B

NOS -
C1TZ-9735-C
and
C5TA-9735-C

If you still have the original from your 1965 can you post a picture of it? Just curious myself. Thanks.

Yep, the reproduction pedal does appear significantly different. Intend calling Green's Monday and inquire whether the accelerator pedal they carry is of the reproduction variety; if so, then apparently one has to whittle to fit; although, if the metal toe (?) rides comfortably in the grove then possibly minimize pedal travel from side to side. Regardless, will place an order with Green's, or DC Monday, should have the item in a week and post comments.

Thank you, found the photo very helpful.

Used dab of 'white-out' in an effort to bring the PN: C5TA-9735-B (AY 10)??? With the use of a magnifying glass unable to find any other #'s.

Thanks Dave. I have seen that style before. Mine are all more of the waffle pattern on the front like these on eBay. The 4WD seemed to use the one carried over from 1964 and earlier as well as the similar pattern on the brake and clutch pedals. Interesting how many subtle variations there are over the years.

Marked: C5TA-9735-A & C5TA-9735-B = Ford part number: C5TZ-9735-A that was replaced by C5TZ-9735-B and then in August 1974, was replaced by C1TZ-9735-C

Marked: C5TA-9735-C = Ford part number: C1TZ-9735-C

My O-S-I catalog says that C1TZ-9735-C also replaced C1TT-9735-B

After considerable cyber search, and with the help of NumbersDummy I was able to find the only replacement cable, at the time, for a speedometer cable for the 65 with the T18. This appears to be the case with the Pre-1974 accelerator pedal replacement, intend verifying with Green's Monday; if they offer the reproduction replacement; if so, then I will either order from Green's, or DC and check the fit once the item arrives the following week, I will take pic's and update.
