Little information about what I'm looking for. I want a 4*4 to get though the snow when my 2wd 03f150 won't handle. I do a small snow removal route and drive when the roads are not cleared yet. I also will not be plowing as this truck is for me only for the sidewalk route. This truck is for Chicago city driving and snow only.
I have found this and spoke with the guy. I feel it is overpriced but would like your opinions.

Guy says rear gear is 3.80 Detroit locker. Is this possible?
The pictures show a "custom" dash, but the description says custom dash removed and cluster put back in. Does any of the replaced cluster work? Why not a picture?
The description also says it needs a wheel cylinder. That's an easy fix, so why hasn't he done it? Probably cuz there's more and bigger problems in the brakes
The truck has a Lund visor. Every Lund visor I've seen has been accompanied by a lot of rot, rust and cancer
The picture is vague, but the right rear looks rusted-out/repaired/primed. Something going on there. Theres a lot going on here, and it's probably bad news

You are looking at a VERY VERY used truck. I would not pay that asking price. Have you read this? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14696861
2wd in snow... some sand bags, large tree stumps or stacked fire wood in the bed, some all terrain rear tires and use the slight application of the brake pedal to stop the one wheel rear spin.

I have used the 2wd the last few years for this route. It works but a 4*4 will make things easier. Trying to break through some of the alleys here can get squirrely. It's the foot + storms I am having trouble with.

Sounds like a stock 4wd is what you might need or be better to look for? Cause remember a stock 4wd, especially with stock rims, tires and no lift might of had a better life than a already lifted big tire truck.
Worse case put some tire chains or "traction straps" on the back end of the 2wd.

It looks to be in better shape? Its a little further drive to check out then the first one.
1978 FORD F150 RANGER XLT 4x4 SOUTHERN TRUCK SHORT BED
Looks like a decent truck, but I'd still be suspect of the "professional work". It doesn't look that well done to me, but it's hard yo tell in the pics.
I did find this one just now.
1978 Ford F250 cammper special 4x4
Depending on what you want and how much work you want to do, either could be decent rigs.
