When I saw my first 2017, my initial observation was that the bed looked narrower than before. The numbers prove that out. The old bed width was 69" (widest point) and the new bed is 66.9" (widest point). Still fits a 4x8 just fine, and I think the bed walls are taller to compensate for lost volume.
