Trouble codes

Do the code readers at the parts stores work well are should I find a better option. My 2000 is running rough but there is no light.

FYI (locally) Advanced Auto no longer allows their store to read codes.

Since this is your first post (if you want help) include your engine type, displacement and location.

Yeah, gonna need a bit more info to help out with this.

Part store readers aren't the best, but in a pinch they should give you a general idea and the basic codes read alright.

Yes, sorry its a 6.8 and I am in the Dallas Georgia area. Do to health I have to find mechanics I can trust. So far I pay for services that are inferior. Don't need free just get what I pay for.
Know the pitty party over just need to know a way to hook up a scanner to find out it runs rough.

I am nearby (East Cobb) try AutoZone:

AutoZone in Dallas, GA | 8811 Dallas Acworth Hwy
AutoZone in Dallas, GA | 4079 Marietta Hwy

If I were betting I'd wager it's a COP, but I have a diesel and don't know if V10's throw codes on COPS.
