best i remember the rotor should slip right off. give it a gentle tap with a rubber mallet.

it's good you have a 3 lb sledge and hopefully a long pry bar because getting that hub to come out even after you remove the 4 nuts isn't a small task. Not that the parts are just setting around or anything but this is one of those times to consider what if everything that might need replaced whilst you have it apart.

Glowplugger what are you working on? Great write up you have posted but I think I've been steering you wrong because your pictures of your front end look nothing like what I remember on mine.

I think yours is a 4wd whereas his is a 2wd? Hence the lack of 4 bolts holding on the bearing assembly....
