Hello I am 15 and my clutch when out today. I need it fix it by Monday so I can get to school. What do I need?? I have all the tools and jacks. I think will get the clutch set. I don't have the time to get my flywheel resurfaced so I will buy a new one. Does the flywheel need balanced or balanced to the crankshaft? I have a 1995 f150 4.9 gas 2 wd with the 5 speed manual. Tips? Tricks? What do I need to know? Thanks for your help.
The flywheel will be balanced at the factory for your application, so if you ask for a 4.9 flywheel for your year truck, it'll work.
Be a good time to replace the pilot bearing, that sits inside the back of your crankshaft, thing the trans input shaft nose slides in. You can rent a bearing puller or go with alternate methods of removal, that you will find on a quick Google search.
A Haynes repair manual is a handy thing to have, buy one if you don't have one.
Good luck
Your transmission has an internal slave cylinder, replace that, the pilot bearing as Motorhead351 said, & the throwout (release) bearing. Buy a full clutch set. Also replace the rear main seal while you're at it. Get a buddy to lend a hand where you need one. Be patient with the truck as well as yourself. Good luck!
