hi guys, i now have 350 miles on my 6.7.. first question i have is, at 150 miles my (exhaust filter) was 85% full brought it to the dealer and was told that it was not normal, and it goes up to 200 not 100%? per what the tech told me.. now its climbing up again..
next is i was wondering if anyone has a problem with throttle response,im used to my zf6 so im not sure if its just me.. when i take off from a stop,it acts like its slipping then it drives fine.. and also when you really lay into it,and let off it keeps going for a few seconds even with your foot off the pedal? anyone els notice this?
To the OP. I think what you're experiencing is turbo lag and turbo spool up. The engines RPM's have to increase a little bit before you build boost and it seems like there's a little lag before you feel the engine pull. And when your accelerating and continuing to increase engine RPM's the turbo is spoiling up and building boost. Usually, if your accelerating and then let off the gas the turbo is still increasing in RPM's and its still building boost even though you let off the accelerator pedal. That slight increase in boost continues to bring the engines RPM's up which causes the truck to continue to increase in speed however so slightly. I used to have a Porsche 930 and they were notorious for turbo spool up to the point that if the car was in a curve one could actually lose traction and spin the car. Hope this helps.

thank you, i figured it could be turbo lag,im still used to my old girl 7.3 with a zf6. to tell you the truth i hate automatics, but i have no choice now lol. my concern was, because i once had an issues with the electronic pedal on my 7.3. it would at times(at the worse possible times) would act funny,it had a dead spot, then would just take off on.me. i changed the pedal assembly and the problem resolved so i didnt know if my.new one may have had a glitch.also
You don’t stop having fun because you get old, you get old because you stop having fun....You gotta blow the dust out every once in a while!!!
Two problems with both feet flat on the floor. I hate buying tires and as it is with my 7.3 the rear ones wear substantially faster. Can't wait to start donating more rubber to mother nature and for the best experience I rarely have enough weight and a steep enough grade to really put it to work. Maybe I am overpowered by I love it when I can "let er eat" on a five or six mile grade. Even better if it is 10 or 12 miles but I have to turn off the MPG screen to really enjoy it.
Scagwildcat, Explain to me how something can be 200% full. In my simple mind full is full and that's 100%.
The DPF restriction gauge can go over 100%. I've watched my 2011 Soot % value go to 140% before the regen can clean it out. This will happen if you drive short distances for weeks on end and never allow the truck to heat up or a regen cycle to start or complete. When it gets that high the message center will also warn the user to Drive to Clean. A regen will quickly clean out the filter and numbers will go back down. In contrast, many times while towing hard I've seen the soot % number go negative. No much, maybe 8-10% but it will do it. It's clear that the pressure sensor is set to run within a certain range but the values can be translated to over 100% or under 0%.
