First of all this is not meant to start another lengthy scientific discussion about diesel coolants.
I see Fleetcharge available at my local NAPA which is ELC I guess. They don't carry conventional Fleetcool but it's available from Cummins dealer which is within 20 min ride. Which one to go with?
I just do fleetcharge and distilled water. We stock it at the O'Reilly's that I work at so it's just more convenient for me that way. You'll need fleet test strips though. Part #CC2602A i got on amazon for ten bucks. Napakool test strips will not work with fleet coolant.
I am pretty impressed with Zerex HD ELC coolant. PN ZXED1. Available from Napa; seems to be good stuff. Been running it in my engines for a couple of years now, with no coolant issues.
There is a sticky on cavitation. It says use conventional low silicate coolant. This is what Fleetcool is. Has pretty short life though, 30K miles and needs SCA added but this is not a big deal.
However, I see many people are using ELC in older trucks with no issues...
I was thinking to go with conventional as truck won't get more than 10K miles a year if even that any way. I also need to change coolant in my '83 Bobcat with Kubota diesel and would like to have the same stuff in both.
Still weighing the options.
