6869 Road Draft TBbe blockoff Plate
This question is for bill the NumberDummy. Good afternoon Bill a couple of years ago I picked up a 292 Y Block in pieces. Some of the nuts bolts and parts are missing. Looking at the left side of the block of a two bolt opening down low on the block. referencing the illustrated parts books I identified the opening as one used by the late 50's emission system (road draft tube). Looking further in the book they show the one used in 1962 and it looks like the one I currently lave on the manifold and valley cover. I know they blocked of the opening when they did the change, but can not find the part number and gasket number. Can you tell me what the numbers are please?

Road draft tube located on the left side of the engine block thru 1959, located at the rear of the engine beginning in 1960 (I cannot find a pic of it).
You're asking for the parts that blocked off the road draft tube used thru 1959, but are there such parts? I don't see anything in the engine pic. I'm now looking thru the text.
Edit: I don't see anything, it's probable that when Ford changed the position of the road draft tube, they changed the engine block.

In the 1957/63 truck parts catalog, I found this for 1960:
B5S-6869-A .. Cover-Cylinder Block Ventilation (Road Draft) Tube Opening - used on 1960 service part replacement cylinder block / Obsolete
This is a 1955 Thunderbird part number, it was originally used on 1955/57 Birds, 1957 Fords with dual quads or Supercharger...because all had a road draft tube on the rear of the engine.
Here is a pic (see below) of the 1956/57 Thunderbird 312 engine from the 1949/59 Ford car parts catalog. Notice the 6869 block off plate and the road draft tube location.
In addition: B7A-6870-A .. Gasket-Crankcase Ventilation Cover - 3.20" O.D. x 2.88" I.D. x .090" thick.
2) 20346-S8 .. Bolt - 5/16" -18 x 3/4" long / Obsolete
2) 34806-S7 .. Lock Washer - 5/16" / Obsolete
Now, the good news:

Ford Thunderbird B5S6869A 1955 1957 55 56 Y Block Crankcase Block Off Plate | eBay I bought this one to use on my 57 block when I added a PCV system.
JFYI 61-64 blocks don't have a hole in the block casting for a road draft tube
