None have or know where I can get a 337 flathead oil dipstick and tube?
Part numbers are 8EQ-6750-B and 8EQ-6754-B
8EQ-6750-B .. Oil Dipstick-27.56" long / Obsolete
8EQ-6754-B .. Dipstick Tube / Obsolete
2) 20388-S8 .. Bolt-Dipstick Tube to Block - 3/8" -16 x 1.00" long / Obsolete
No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
I verified the dipstick part number in the 1948/56 truck parts catalog, but the tube is no longer listed, only the bolts are.
So, are you sure this is the correct part number?
The 337 flatty was also used in 1949/51 Lincoln/Lincoln Cosmopolitan. I don't have this Lincoln parts catalog, but I know some of the parts are different, as a friend has a 1951 Lincoln.
My friend was born in ME .. but has lived in West L/A since the mid 1950's, too far for you to "swing on by and take a look-see."
The early 337s according to my book also could have been -A. I assumed those were superseded by the -B. I'm gonna check my 1952 F8. Maybe the lincoln yblock will be close enough to the flathead.
The only part numbers I have are directly from the 1948-1956 ford Big job book. If any numbers have been superseded, I have no knowledge of that.
Thank You by the way.
The number is good. Your truck is a 1952, so what I'll say next probably won't matter, but there were two lengths of dip sticks and tubes. The 1948-1949 parts were 8EQ 6754-A (14.38") and 8EQ 6750-A (24.24"). The 1951 OSI book substituted 8EQ 6754-B (15.88") and 8EQ 6750-B (27.56"). Stu
Actually my 1952 truck has the correct 317ci lincoln y block. The dipstick is a different part number than the 337 flathead, but they are available for the lincoln y. I thought maybe I could modify one to work. The flathead motor that I'm looking for a dipstick for, is just a nice running engine I saved from the scrap yard. I was told it was on a generator (Onan maybe) of some sort. The heads say ford 8eq versus the lincoln 8el. I can see through the oil tube port adjustable non hydraulic lifters that indicate ford truck not lincoln
Yeah kinda hard to find. I have a couple ideas, to modify another tube, but otherwise, I'll have to find a private person who happens to have one.
Here is some photos of the old beast.
It currently has an old Holley 1901 on top due to the float being bad on the original Holley 885fg.
And no, I don't like yellow plug wires either!
Actually my 1952 truck has the correct 317ci Lincoln Y block. The dipstick is a different part number than the 337 flathead, but they are available for the Lincoln Y.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 1 = 800-543-4959.

If Bills leads dont pan out i may have the tube and dipstick?
I just sold a complete 337 truck engine.
But still have another 337 which i believe was in a car since its attached to the hydromatic. The heads on this engine were gone when i got it.
