Mine varies from instant to 3-4 sec. regardless of hot or cold, new or old oil, dino or syn, no pattern at all. 6.4 starter made no difference, just spins faster.
A Ford tech that owns a 03 6.0 told me the reason for the long crank was too high of oil pressure on the 03 and it had to bleed off before it the PCM commanded a start. Never heard that one before.
