I am not one who post things on the forums. This thread is to talk about the next project that I have for Carlos. If you are like me you leave your door open a lot when working on the truck or you see a Squirrel and forget to shut your door. I have been thinking about swapping out the regular light bulb (912) in the cab light for an LED one for some time now. I just ordered a LED T15 from Amazon and will post some before and after photos of Cab light. If anyone has already done this please post photos and the LED bulb that you used.
I would like to thank Gary for the guidance on a bulb selection.
did an LED cab light about a year ago, My reason was the 912 gets really hot to the point of deforming the lens....
Dot remember the number will look around
are we talking about the actual dome light? I used a LED one in mine but with the white plastic lens it doesn't do much good. If I were to swap out for the late model clear lens it probably would do better.
Got the new LED light in today and took some before and after photos. The first few are the standard 912 bulb and the seconded batch is the LED bulb. I can say so far it make a big difference. The light is more of a natural bright white and really seams to light up the cab better. I am happy so far for the fact that is it just as bright if not brighter than the standard 912 bulb. The big pros for me is the lack of heat and battery drain. If other people have done this swap please chime in. I would like to thank Gary and David at the FTE GTG this month for the idea when David was changing out his dash lights for LED's.
