Have a weird cab light issue that I'd like some input on. I have one cablight that is acting a bit weird. The light shines VERY dim. I've tried two new bulbs, and when first installed they will shine the same as the rest, but within a day, start shining VERY dim, almost to the point of not being on. Any thoughts? Anyone know off the top of their head what the proper voltage I should be seeing at the bulb socket? Thanks.
you have a poor ground or if this a light that is on when the dorrs are open the door switches could have bad contacts in them causing a high resistance conection.

This is a cab (clearance) light on the roof of the truck. It is not triggered by any action related to the door(s).

On your next post provide a little more info!
Cab lights can be anything on the cab or inside the cab, unless specified.
When the light is on,if you tap on the light its self,do you see any change in
brightness. The harness for these lights goes down the a-pillar through the passenger side kick panel. it might have gotten some water or corrosin in the connector.
If you find it is corrosion in the sockets or connections use some dielectric grease in the area.To help prevent future problems.

Sounds like the socket to bulb connection is bad, if not the light socket has a harness connector on the bottom. To access it you would have to drop the headliner, at that point I would suggest installing a new light as it is only a few dollars. The problem must be up high in the truck as only 1 light has a problem.
