I am pretty sure the 48 will not fit with the SB. You would have to go to a Titan tank which is quite a bit deeper and hangs down farther. I ordered a LB and it still only has the 34 gallon which I dislike before it even comes. My '01 has a 39 gallon but then again no cow pee tank. I am hoping that Titan will develop a 50 gallon for the SC LB but I will have to wait for that...last talk with them said it would be a while before they get around to investigating it. Nice truck you have....enjoy!
Can anyone confirm what the deal is with the supposed 34 gallon tank. Did we get shafted again....before I even take delivery....???...lol
I suspect that these early trucks had the computer set for the 29 gallon tank even though they actually have the 34 gallon tank. I am hoping to make it to a dealer this weekend to confirm.
Yeah...but even if the "computer" is wrong...why is the tank only allowing 29 gallons to go in. I think I understand what you're saying...but what size is the actual plastic??? Is it a 29 Gallon tank or a 34??

I am pretty sure it is a 34 gallon tank. The markings on the tanks use the number "34" in their product ID numbers, which I assume indicates 34 gallons, though I can't say that I have confirmation of that.

There's 5 gallons unused in your tank. The warning is set pretty early to keep you from running out of fuel.
I hear ya....BUT...when Trike filled his tank....25 miles until empty...he still has 6 gallons in his tank at "25 miles until empty"???? I believe you....it's just odd that on my old Short Bed...when I was 30 miles till empty...it took about 27 gallons in my 29 gallon tank....never seemed to be 5 gallons left...more like 2. Oh well....as long as no one is pushing the truck to the station!!!
This weekend I put 28.2 gallons in my Mercedes diesel SUV 26.4 gallon tank. I thought that was weird. I asked the wife to read the book as we were driving along and found out there is a 3.2 gallon "reserve fuel" in addition to the stated capacity of the tank. So I really have a 29.6 gallon tank. So my new F250 34 gallon tank will show empty at 29 gallons? I remember the days when the gas gauge read 0 and that meant the tank was empty. That seems like a better concept.
To add to the mystery there will be a certain amount of unusable (vs. unused) fuel in any tank. The pickup is always located off the bottom a certain amount, so the amount could be a gallon or two easy.
