electrical help pleeease

Hello all. I have a 47 1 1/2 ton that I now am trying to rewire. All the wires were cut when I purchased the truck and I'm quite stymied trying to figure out what's what. At present, I'm trying to wire the generator from the voltage regulator so I can charge the battery while running among other things. For now, I've connected my field to field, my arm to arm, and my batt is live but I think it does a dipsy doole before connecting to my generator. Does anyone out there have some patience and could guide me through this.

My tonner has pretty good original wiring so I fixed what needed it and use it as is however I had a panel that needed new wiring all of the way around so I bought the harnesses from on of the suppliers and installed that. You may want to go that way if yours is to far gone.
