My 97' 4x4 lifted CCLB with 4.10's and OBD-II with MAF is getting 13-14 on the highway with 2 cylinders with very low compression. I also drive with a light foot.
My '96 F350 dually 460/e4od/4.10 got 10 mpg empty, daily driving to work back when it was brand new. I cut the air horn from the intake tube and turned up the timing a couple degrees.
Gas was only like .90/gal so it was not a big deal then.
Thanks guys. Sounds like I might be able to do better. BTW my other vehicle, '14 Ford escape, gets 24 mpg in the city, so I'm not complaining........really.

Does anyone happen to know what my truck weighs?
Between 4-5k. My 94 crew cab 2wd long bed weighs 5800
Between 4 and 5K is not bad. I thought it might be heavier. Got to admit, been running at idle or more while tuning on driveway for too long. So just maybe when she gets out at 45 mph or more in 5 th gear, she may do better. I'm sure glad gas is $2.02 here in central Florida on 09/20/16.
I really doubt it's between 4-5k lbs. Any scales around? F250 frame is 1/4" thick, 460 is heavy, Sterling 10.25 FF is heavy. My half ton (3/16" frame) with the lighter 351w, but heavier cab, TTB axle, & ~100lb T-case is 5200lb empty with little fuel.
What's your truck get on a 65mph highway cruise? Town mileage is best not to check or compare to others. I can get my 351w down to about 9mpg in town, then jump on the highway at 70mph and get 14mpg all day (summer fuel).
Yeah I get better than 8! About 8.6 the last couple times I did the math!!!!!! Hahahah
Mines carb'd though so I imagine efi would get better mileage. My truck weighs about 6k with me the dog and the toolbox with some tools in it. Supercab long bed 460 4speed f250

Have you actually weighed it? My 95 s/c long bed 4x4 is almost 6200 full of gas with me in it. So 6k empty without me. Certified scales.
I get as low as 6mpg with a heavy foot in heavy traffic, and somehow I managed 11.5 running 80-85 over 350 miles this weekend. I still don't know how that happened, generally in the past it would only break 11 if I kept it under 65. Generally in mixed traffic, 10 Mpg is the usual. I have 4.10s, e4od and stock tires.

I got 9 towing 8k @ 60, 8mpg @ 70, 7.5 Mpg @ 75.
I have. Remember, that's a 2wd truck. No solid axle, no transfer case. Sounds crazy but thats what it weighed empty (gas tanks damn near empty too), with me not in it.
