Painting over old bed liner

Painting over old bed liner
The previous owner of my F250 had the bed lined with a green bed liner and now that it's old and faded it just looks like crap. I was wondering if I could just spray another bed liner over it and it would keep the texture but change the color. In the past I used rustoleum bed liner to line the inside of my boat and it held nice. Any ideas on what brand or if it's even a good ide?

It sould work, just be sure to scuff up the bedliner with a scothbrite pad to ensure good adhesion.
The only problem I see if there being some chemical reaction between the 2 bedliners and cuasing the new bs old to wrinkle up.
Bedliner comes to preference I guess. I have also used the rustoleum one and it went on well. I have used other brands that also went on well.
I would get some bed liner, and spray/roll it on one area and see if it wrinkles up, if nothing happens then you're all good to go for the rest of the bed.

I just redid my liner after 6 years, I pressure washed it , scuffed the old one, feathered any damaged areas and just resprayed a new liner right over the old one and I had no issues with it. They were both the same brand but the first was petroleum based and the new one was a latex based liner and it went on fine.
