I just bought a 94 f150, and the body is just about detached from the frame in the front, next to the radiator. The bushing and it's bracket coming off the frame is solid, but on the other side of that bushing, the bracket is rusted through on all sides where it should connect to the body.
My plan is to replace that front support, the part that I assume the grille and headlights attach to, and the two front fenders because they also are rusting through.
Any tips on what I'll need to replace? I can't really tell which parts attach to what, until I start removing body panels but I'd like to know a little more about what scale of project this is going to turn into.
My truck needs that done as well, though your truck sounds a little more rotted. It's called a core support, search this forum using Google to look for core support replacement how-to. I know someone covered it in detail in the last few years. I recommend thoroughly cleaning & then painting the replacement with a quality paint so the new one lasts. It's a pretty involved job from what I've read. I'm going to do the passenger fender when I finally get to it, I'm just not very enthusiastic about body work.
