53-56 hood hinges?

53-56 hood hinges?
I have read posts that say they do interchange and posts that say they do not. I can see that the shoulder on the hinge bolts are different. I just bought a set for my 53 and they appear to be for a 56. If I use the correct shoulder bolts for the 56 hinges will they work on my 53? Some say they will, but you can't make the early hinges fit the 56. What is the correct answer? Will the 56 hinges work? This is just going to be a driver.

I might just be thinking out loud but I think they would and not allow the hood to open as much as what the 53-55 did . I believe the 56 hinges had longer arms so the hood wouldn't hit the windshield.. I think you should be okay but there are some here with more knowledge than myself..
