VIN Decoder Results
So finally got around to running the VIN on my new 2016 F250. I bought it used but with 5K miles on it.
To my surprise it comes up as a longbed but the truck as is now is actually a short bed?
Does this mean it was wrecked and bed replaced?

No, you maybe have transposed a number or entered it wrong or the decoder might have a bug. Go here and enter your VIN. Ford will tell you exactly what your truck was built with...
Click on the vehicle tab on the top line and then enter your VIN. This is the build info as entered at the factory by Ford.

Oh yea, the frame is different length as is the wheel base between a short bed and long bed by approx 18" or so.

I have to ask !!
where did you get the Vin number... door or windshield.. or registration?
one under the windshield is the ONLY real number... all others are copies. and could be in error.
frame and bed replacement,,,, NOT likely.

I went to that site, put in my VIN and it says my truck was built with a sliding rear window. It does not have one? Nor can I see anything on the cab that would indicate the rear window I do have is not original to my truck? Just sayin' ... ?
