I'll just start this as I'm new so be easy on me!! I recently noticed my front tires on my 97 f350 7.3L with Dana 60 axle have been wearing on the outside of the tread more than the inside. (Truck does have rsk and 35" tires) So I searched around and realize this can be adjusted by the sleeves that fit over the bolt of the ball joint. Again did more looking around watched some videos on how to get to the ball joints and seemed easy enough so I got some time and went at it! 8 hours later I got nowhere. Pulled the tire broke down the hub and and got the brakes and rotor off ... got the 5 bolts out of the spindle I believe it's called and I saw multiple people hit it with dead blows and mallets they use wood and hit the wood with 5lb hammers to break that spindle free but like I said 8 hours later and mine didn't budge! The truck was in Arizona and is now in Florida so it's not rusty but I need to get those ball joints replaced and was wondering if anybody has run into this problem or has advise! It would be much appreciated!
Outside edge wear is caused by excessive toe in. If it had enough camber to wear the tire it would be leaning far beyond what the bushings could correct.
