My drivers front tire is wearing pretty bad on the inside. My tires are still in great shape despite being two years old and having 25000 miles on them. I had an alignment done right after having the tires installed. How can i tell if its an alignment issue or ball joints?
If it is a ball joint, it is also an alignment issue. Meaning, the loose ball joint allows the wheel to be out of alignment. I think you want to take it to the alignment shop and ask them to check the ball joints first, which normally they should do anyway. They cannot properly align a vehicle with loose ball joints.
If you want to check the ball joints yourself, jack up one wheel at a time, with the lift under the frame or solid axle if a 4wd. (wheel hanging free) Then use a big pry bar under the tire, and lift the weight of the tire while someone inspects each ball joint for movement. There should be none.
Well, lools like it is my drivers side upper ball joint is bad. Which explains the uneven tire wear. And im gonna go ahead and replace the lower while im at it. I took it to a small locally owned alignment shop over in shreveport called walkers spring and brake. They seem to have a pretty good reputation and have been in buisness since 1928. They quoted me $300-$400 to replace both ball joints and align it. That seems pretty damn reasonable to me. What do you guys think?

Cheapest price I've seen. I would probably jump on both sides for that price. After all, it's just a matter of time.
