Drive and ride are close to same.. fuel economy is less so far.. irritating fact: when you program in that you are hauling a 5th wheel it shuts off the rear side sensors so you get no Blindspot warning of cars beside the trailer......grrrrrrr.. this was one of the safety factors that I bought this truck for...
I had a feeling that BLIS wouldn't work with a 5th wheel. The sensors are in the taillights and the taillights are tucked in under the trailer. I guess that's one option I can leave off the next build since my truck has a 5th wheel behind it 90% of the time.
See page 252 on the user's manual via https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...017/Ford/F-350. It appears that you have to set the trailer as a bumper-pull 30' or shorter. If you tell the system that you have a gooseneck, 5th wheel, or bumper-pull over 30', it turns the BLIS off.
I've clearly spent too much time researching this truck - I haven't even decided what to order yet.
Yea, but if you trick the BLIS into working that way you might be constantly getting a false reading of someone in your blind spot since the sensors will be bouncing off the front of the trailer. I guess someone will need to test this theory.

At looks you look good pulling that rig lol! Yeah Blis was on of the reasons I wanted this truck. Oh well.
Personally, I HATE blind spot detection and deactivate it on every vehicle I buy. I'm glad it won't be active when I'm towing as I would have shut it off one way or the other. I prefer to drive my vehicles and disable or don't order any driver aids. Unfortunately, I will have to order BLIS to get the LED headlight pkg....
My toy hauler regularly weighs in at 19,000 lbs (sometimes more). I have 6 inches between the bed rails and the trailer and I wouldn't want any less. There's just too many times when I've been off road where I've crept through dips and rises watching the tailgate come within an inch of contact.
The trailer's axles are already flipped and I have my B&W hitch on middle setting vertically. This has been a really good thing and has never been a problem. Yes, the ramp can be a little steep and the step can be a little high but the advantages of having the extra clearance are so great. I never worry about dragging and it's so nice to have the extra space when I'm crawling around underneath. I can almost sit up underneath when checking brakes.

You make a lane change into someone and injur them with your system off, may the lawyers have fun. I'm not kidding.
You sure about that? I just did a build and price for a loaded lariat ultimate and it didn't require the BLIS option to get the LED heads & tails.
Yes, I'm sure. What you didn't notice when you added the LED headlights to the build is that it automatically added BLIS. Watch the price jump and you will see it adds a lot more than the headlight upgrade cost. Then scroll up and notice that BLIS is now selected and marked as "included." The reason for this is that the LED tail lamps that come with the LED headlamp option include the BLIS radar. So to get one, you must get the other. This was discussed back when the order guide first came out...
