Probably because the Chat data base was not fully updated. The dealer gets all the information available and the other sites just bits at a time. I asked Tia on chat out to dinner but she is too far away. I know them all on a first name basis now. Gonna miss them. (Actually a line from "The Scent of a Woman." "I have a personal relationship with Jack Daniels so I call him by his first name, John." Great movie with a local star, Phillip Seymour Hoffman in one of his first starring roles. RIP)
I got my VIN today from Tia. My salesman (dealer owner's son) finally replied to me this afternoon that he was not at work today so he couldn't check the report. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and hopefully they can give me some dates.

There are variations that seem to make no sense. I wonder how much of that is dealer volumes and allocations. Bottom line is that some guys wait much longer for exact same configurations than others. Clearly there is some calculus that includes dealership variables. That would be a momma of a formula to understand.
I believe what determines vin is totally dealer allocation. besides the basic delays of option back orders and quality control hold ups... Some dealers have larger allocations from previous years sales. maybe the dealer we order from has already placed to many orders for the year on our model.. I think there a lot of variables we don't know about...
Hi guys! New to the forum and new to Ford...I've been a Chevy guy my whole life. (I can explain why and what brought me to Ford in a separate thread if interested. No, it isn't a very exciting story ) To answer the original question, ordered September 5th, got a VIN September 15th. The dealer claims my tentative build date is 10/10/16. We will see how much that holds, but there is always hoping!
Ordered: F250 Platinum Crew Cab / Ultimate package / Basically every option except snow plow prep, tow package, and roof lights.

Reason: Added what I ordered for those interested
Junior what did you order? Seeing all these guys order and 2-3 weeks later have a VIN and build dates? And here we sit! Wondering if what we ordered is playing a part? Mine is a 350 dually KR. Have not found any at the dealers, and only a few 450's.
