I had to use a little heat and some PB blaster on the taper to knock it out with a pickle fork. Didn't get too carried away heating up the drag link just enough to turn the paint flat, then spray it down with penetrating oil, pickle fork did the trick.
I have the fork tool but the forks are not thick enough.
You can use anything to shim the fork up, off of the drag link; steel flat stock, hardwood strips, plastic shims from the door and window section at Home Depot, etc. You could probably even use some thick washers if you have any, though flat strips would be easier.
I had to use a pitman arm puller on mine. It was a bit stuck. But once it reached the
right pressure it popped free. When I tool a look at the taper it was a bit rusted.
In this PDF is the tool I was using. Look at Steering drag link inner.
It shows an image of the tool. Speaking of I will be using that tool today
and also pulling the stabilizer my self. Oh what fun today.
I also posted some other PDF you may find handy. One has torque values
for the front end and the other is an exploded view also with torque values.
It happens. The marks on the nut kind of looked like it. The reason I was asking was to get a better understanding if that taper was wedged in there tighter then normally seen. So yeah, that's why your having a hard time.
Hallelujah!! Praise the Lord!! I'm going to church tomorrow!
It finally poped out! I've been banging on it off and on all day. I used a gear pully and cranked down until it wouldn't turn no more. Then I used my torch to heat it up, sprayed it with wd40 and started banging-on the bolt. After a few Hell Mary bangs it shot out with force. I was happy. Thanks all for the help I really appreciate it. Oriellys did not have the steering stabilizer I need so will have to till tomorrow. Also put rancho shocks all around today. Can't wait to take it for a ride. Thanks again

Reason: Not finished
Usually tension and a hit with a hammer works well on stuff like that. I know doing u-joints I will get them in my wimpy HF shop press and crank on it to the point it starts bending the press. Usually at the point it only takes a small tap of a hammer for it to pop with nice loud bang.
