offenhauser intake question ?

Hey all,

I am currently working on upgrading my 79 F250 4x4 that has a 300 I-6 and 4 speed manual in it. I bought the Offenhauser intake for it as part of the upgrade and had read that I needed to run hot water jackets to it in order to help it warm up, idle better etc.... but then I looked at the intake today and on the bottom of the intake where the hot water jackets would hook up to it, it is stamped, not for use with hot water plate. so my question is this, does anyone here know , if it is better to use the hot water plate hook up on it or not and does it just say that as some sort of a liability for Offy to cover their own a** from a lawsuit or is it actually not designed for that and shouldn't be used at all? Any help with people who have used and upgraded to the Offy intake and have used the hot water intake or not, would love to hear the good and the bad of using it and not using it. Friend of mine who is a mechanic said that I should use it since where I live here in Washington State, it gets below 40 in the winter time. Thanks.
