The few Banks kits I have seen here had a port tapped right into the turbo outlet flange or a bung welded to the downpipe right below the turbo outlet.
I think I remember seeing a plug in the flange the turbo bolts to as well, but never saw one with a thermocouple mounted there.
For some reason ATS kits are much more common here.
I don't think I have ever even seen a Hypermax turbo in person.
Kinda funny how things like that seem to be so regional in their distribution.
if they have a thermocouple in the outlet side, it was put in by the owner.
banks puts their ports on the inlet side about 4 inches below the turbo on every one i ever seen
I'll have to check it out to be sure... never really looked. It definately is a long hill. Thanks to the Gear Venders unit it makes the truck pull up it without much problems. The temp definately was right there, locked, around 950-1000. Never really saw any change in oil temps at all. Boost and egts maxed out even if i was out of overdrive and pulling at 3k rpm rather than around 2.5k rpm while in overdrive. (I tested both to see)
It really is a steep long hill so it was great to test on. I'll let you know about the probe's location. Good thing you mentioned it.
