UPDATE:
The pressure dropped on me again after 600 miles or so. I stopped at the auto parts store and picked up more motorcraft filters but when i pulled the filters they weren't dirty hardly any but i replaced them anyway. Got back on the road and still pressure dropping. I was extremely low on fuel so i limped to a gas station and filled up and got back on the road. The pressure improved some still dropped on WOT and dropped from 60 to 50 on highway.
I watched a video on the fuel pressure regulator and realized i installed a kit that didnt have the poppet seat, housing, etc. I ordered a new kit and installed this morning. Now the pressures are even worse. Drops from 62 to 40 at WOT and sometimes hits below 40.
I thought maybe cracked pickup tube in tank so i filled up with diesel and no difference.
So frustrated. I feel like i have checked everything. Wasted a whole morning trying to figure this out. UGH
It could be that the screen that is part of the pickup foot has been plugged
with something that is in the tank. I know it a Pain to do but removing the
assembly and cleaning the pickup is what I would do at this point.
If you fins something that looks like a sludge then you may have an algae
issue and need to treat it with an algaecide to kill it.
