Super Duty Remote Start

Hello everybody...I bought a 2016 F-250 Lariat, Crew Cab, Short Bed, 4X4, 6.2 a couple weeks ago. One thing I had to have was remote start. My truck was not manufactured with remote start so the dealer installed the Ford 1 way remote start system. The system works fine however the air conditioning fan runs on the lowest speed when remote starting until I put my key in the ignition at which time it reverts back to wherever it was set when I shut the truck down. The whole point of the remote start for me is to get a head start on the truck cooling off but with the fan on low when remote starting it defeats the purpose. Does anyone know how I can change the setting so that when I remote start the fan runs on high? Dealer is clueless and the settings in the truck only allow to turn the system on and off and run time duration.

That's how mine is supposed to be...however the fan stays on low until I put my key in the ignition- then it reverts back to its last setting.

The remote start that is made and sold by ford for aftermarket install adjusts the truck to heat or cool automatically depending on inside temp. If the truck is very hot inside the fan comes on high.
If they installed some generic system then I dont know.

I installed the plug and play Ford system as well. Probably the truck was not hot enough for the fan to switch to high. Mine will will if the temp is high.

From the 2016 Ford Workshop DVD

Climate Control Section

Remote Start System Behavior

Remote start is an available feature on this vehicle. In addition to being able to start the vehicle remotely, the remote start feature also utilizes other vehicle systems to increase the level of comfort to the vehicle occupants upon entering the vehicle. For additional information on the remote start feature and the other vehicle systems it utilizes, refer to Section 303-06A for gas engines or, Section 303-06B for diesel engines.

When the remote start feature is used, the climate control system automatically sets certain parameters in an attempt to achieve a comfortable cabin temperature. These parameters are set based on outside air temperature. During remote start, the outside air temperature is continually evaluated and HVAC system behavior can change if the outside air changes between cold, moderate and warm temperatures.

For cold ambient air temperatures (below 4.4°C (40°F)):

the airflow mode is set to FLOOR/DEFROST.
the temperature is set to full HOT.
the blower speed is set to HIGH.
the air inlet mode is set to fresh air.
the auxiliary electric heater is enabled if needed (diesel engines only, if equipped).

For moderate ambient air temperatures (between 4.4°C (40°F) and 23.9°C (75°F)):

the airflow mode is set to the last user setting.
the temperature is set to the last user setting.
the blower speed is set to the last user setting.
the air inlet mode is set to the last user setting.
the auxiliary electric heater is enabled if needed (diesel engines only, if equipped).

For warm ambient air temperatures (above 23.9°C (75°F)):

the airflow mode is set to MAX A/C.
the temperature is set to full COOL.
the blower speed is set to HIGH.
the air inlet mode is set to RECIRC.
the auxiliary electric heater is enabled if needed (diesel engines only, if equipped).

That is not hove my F350 2015 operates, it states in book that if remote start is used in only comes on low, and that is hove it operates till key is inserted.

Your truck is working as designed and there's no way to change it as of right now. It's a programming issue. There's a long thread in the 6.7L forum about it. My understanding according to the manual is the truck is trying to reach the magical 72°. It is not trying to reach 72° as quickly as possible though.

It does not use "last settings" while under remote start condition. It also does not blow the fan wide open on full cold AC when it's hot out, that would make too much sense. When I remote started this morning, it was 63° outside. I got in and the seat heaters were on and steering wheel heater was on. I don't know why they would program it like that.
