Hello all! I am new to this site but far from new to Ford tucks. I currently have a 1953 F100 daily driver, and a 1995 F350 4X4 powerstroke crewcab work horse. I have a wild idea about doing a 1953 crewcab build to put on my 95 F350 frame hoping to see that project come together ASAP.
Drove the 2.5 hrs each way to go look at a 1953 f800 tow truck, 1956 f700 dump truck and a 1956 f600 flatbed this last weekend. Sad to say that it was a bust! All 3 trucks were way too far gone to be used in my crew-cab build. So the hunt for good cabs continues!!

1956 C600 tow truck located at a repair shop on the south side of Highway 20 just as you enter Twisp WA from the west.
Thank you for the heads up on where a truck is. If I get up to Seattle soon I will make it a point to go check it out. Already have a couple leads that I am trying to go look at this weekend. Will keep everyone posted on how it goes.
I have added a few pictures in my profile of my daily driven 53 f100. My avatar is what my truck looked like when I bought it. I then had a new engine cradle, custom headers, and mandrill bent exhaust built for it as well as up graded from the C4 to a C6. But now it not only looks great for a daily diver but has no problem going wherever I take it and sounds AWSOME doing it!
Estamate is for over $24,000 to repair the truck! Unfortunately I have not been able to return to work since the accident because I have been injured. The insurance company was nice enough to offer me a total of $5,000 pre loss appraisal! I am now locked in a battle with the insurance company to get them to realize that this was not a $5,000 truck ever!
Yeah, that's insane. Can't believe it was only appraised at $5000. They're always a little backwards though. I remember when I was looking at switching insurance companies on my '99 for a better rate. They told me they needed an appraisal first. I guess it's a "classic" now. Had a good laugh thinking about bringing the rust bucket in to tell me what it's worth.
Well, hopefully you can get them sorted out and have some time to rest up. Never fun not being able to work because you're hurt.

ok got my 53 f100 finally settled with Statefarm. OMG what a HUGE pain in the a$$ they were to deal with! Cost me over $1000 to get them to pay out what it was worth. Now I am on the hunt for another one. And yes I kept my old truck. Will post pictures of the new one when I get it.
