difference between 351m/400

difference between 351m/400
alright guys, need a little help. I need to know if this engine is either a 351m or a 400. the intake manifold has a 400 on it, but I need proof. is there any way to tell without dissecting things? any help is appreciated.

The intake you have is an Edelbrock Performer 400. That's just the model name and has no bearing as to engine size. The only difference between the 351M and 400 is the crank and pistons. A sure fire way to tell if you have a 400 is to drop the oil pan and look at the numbers stamped on a counterweight.
The way the other posters have said is a "ballpark" measure. It will be close - the 351M has a 3.50" inch stroke and the 400 has a 4.00" stroke.
