cheap headlight replacment

both my driving light lenses get condensation in them.

I have taken a heat gun, and dried them out,

but in the morning they have condensation in them again.

is there a solution, or a cheap headlight replacement?

Certifit

I tried another cheap brand and sent them back. Went to Certifit and they were great!

Rockauto sells the TYC brand replacements. They look the same as stock and cost $20 or so per side plus shipping. Ebay also has lots of options if you want something that looks different.

You can also try and re-seal them, or drill a tiny hole in the bottom of the housing to allow the condensation to escape.

the ones from rock auto I see are $84.79

the ones on ebay include the turn signal part,

is it possible just to replace the headlight portion?

do you have a link to the ones you listed above?

Ah crap you have an 88. Unfortunately the 87-91 headlights are much more expensive and have an extremely limited aftermarket. Sorry about that.

I got mine googling 'Eagle Eyes' and then shoppin the links that come up. Nice prices, wide selection. They're out there, just be patient. (Don't have the actual paperwork from mine in front of me, but that was the namebrand on the boxes.)
Good luck and keep us posted.

Quick update. Punch up 'HeadlightsDepot, and go from there. I didn't want the fancy 'Euro-Look' etc, just a factory replacement. (My bulbs burnt/melted the back of the assembly, causing the local police to stop me and say 'hello'.) Plus they were yellowed like crazy. Depending on the condition of the retaining clips, ya might do as I did and just order the new clips and saving what few hairs left in my head. (Mine were rusted to the point of being unusable upon replacement.) Hope this helps in any way. ')

Drill an 1/8" hole in the back of the housing to let the humidity in and out of the housing. If you already have a drill and bits, this is about as cheap as it gets.

Don't use clips

Just use JB weld for plastic and throw the expensive clips away. Don't know why Ford used these anyway. Certifit is the way to go. Bout 20$ EACH.

Agreed. And seal the top and 2 sides with clear silicone where the lens meets the housing

I would not recommend eagle eyes. A NIB set came with my truck. One side had the locating nubs for the bulb rotated from stock, so the beam was off. The other side had condensation problems a month after putting it in. Both had horrible light patterns on the road. I got a set of "Vision" brand off of e-bay and they have better beam patterns than the stock lights.

May not apply to an 87-91 truck, though...
