Wait for the correction.... Trucks with 18's are coming in with bad stickers too....

And I saved around $1000 on the purchase price. Now I can tell my wife that my new truck will definitely cost less than my first house - at least before TT&L.

Jeez Rodney, your full of all kinds of info, good and bad. I had to crawl under the truck with a flashlight hoping you were wrong. Sure enough I have a 18" spare. I didn't even think that could be possible. Glad the Crown XR is flowing.
You guys carry on, really sorry for the confusion. Some times just a little patience can go along way. I hope things get it straighten out pretty quick, y'all might want to check your blood pressure.

I have a 18" spare on my 2009 f150 with 20" tires as well. 65 series on the 18, 55 on the 20, so they were about the same diameter. I doubt the 18" spare on the SD is 34.2" in diameter though.

The spare tire will be the same overall diameter as what's on the truck regardless of rim size. Do you guys really want to pay even more $ to have a 20" wheel under your truck just in case you have a flat? The 20" wheel is purely aesthetics, do we (as customers) really want Ford to raise the price of the truck even more than it already is to have a 20" wheel on our spare that hopefully will never be used? I don't care what rim size as long as the wheel fits over the brake caliper, my day is already going poorly if I even need the spare! IMOP make it whatever is functional, reliable, and inexpensive. My spare hasn't ever been from under the truck on either of my trucks! Been lucky I guess.......

My spare on my on my F550 is a 19.5, I'll loan you that one if you have a flat!

Actually, no, it won't be the same diameter. It will be a little less than an inch shorter. However, it won't matter since no SRW trucks come with limited slip anymore. Back on the 2010 and prior SRW trucks, if you had LS and got a flat in the rear, you had to put the 18" spare on the front and your front on the rear to ensure you didn't cook the diff.

My spare on my current truck is exactly the same as the other four. The wheels is the same too. All of them are 17". In 10 years I have used the spare exactly once. I'll have to drive harder.

Used mine 0 times on the 2002 and 1x on the 550. Will try harder with the new truck.

I think I want a platinum wheel under my new truck for a spare now that I think about it. That way IF I ever do get a flat, Nooooo one will ever know!

On previous vehicles, I always used to work in my spare tire when I replaced the first set on my truck (or car/suv). I'd only buy three, get the spare mounted on one of my rims, and put the best take off back on the spare rim. No sense having a brand new tire in storage dry rotting until I trade. However, trucks now come with different size spares and my wife's SUVs have more recently had a different cheapo brand even if it was the same size so I couldn't use it at replacement time either.

Current truck came with Michelins on AL wheels but the spare was a GY on steel. Same size so I never had a concern over size, but I did check first time I had it off the hoist. Also always checked pressure when changing oil. But this brings me to the point that these hoists fail after many years running in the wet and dirt. I had to drop the spare a couple of weeks ago when I replaced the shocks and a broken shock bracket and the spare came down about 4 inches and the winch seized completely. Could not go down or up and had I been on the side of the road it would have been equal to no spare at all plus 75 pounds swinging on a cable. New winch = $140. Off brand is $75. with poor reviews. I used to crank it down and up once a year but had not for 4-5 years because lazy. Well worth checking occasionally.

But it never rains in California, none the less snow, sleet, salt and sand unless you head to the mountains. Your beautiful wheel would be ruined in a year or two here in the rust belt.

Used to do the same thing but I like having 4 identical tires on the ground. Some kind of superstitious **** thing I guess and current truck had different brand spare so it never got rotated through. I do know people who replace tires one at a time, often from the used tire dealer. They seem to spend their lives buying tires and fixing flats.

Oh, we're on the same page Rob. I stopped doing it when the spare stopped being the same as the tires I was running. I'd only use it if it was something I would buy 3 more of and that's not the case anymore. On trucks it's usually a 18" AS when I'm running 20" AT...

So, back to the topic at hand. Anyone with an offending sticker hear something back from your dealer? I figured by now, someone would have an answer or perhaps as Epic posted earlier, a later build date truck would land at a dealer with 20's and a correct sticker. Nothing on either front posted yet....
