I cannot get the junction block or proportioning valve on my '75 F100 with all-drum brakes to stop leaking. I was wondering if anyone knew the Ford part number for this or had the parts diagram that would show the part number.
Or if anyone knows of a universal part that makes a good replacement.
It looks like the one I have pictured. Again, the truck is a 1975 4x4 with 4 wheel drum brakes. I was also considering just doing away with this part and running the lines from the master cylinder without it.
Valve, brake pressure differential
Fits: 73-75 F100 w/ 4WD

Last dealer cost $170.25, list price $243.22 (ouch!)
Obsolete, unfortunately no dealer or obsolete supplier shows having any.
Is the block itself leaking or is it the switch leaking? That was a very common problem.
With 4 wheel drum brakes, that block is just for the switch. It isn't a proportioning valve like you have with disc brakes. It could be bypassed without affecting the brakes.
I couldn't tell exactly where the leak is coming from yet but it seems to be the rear section - away from the switch. it just constantly forms drops on the bottom. (Didn't have a helper on-hand to push the pedal and increase pressure) I think I can live without the warning light if it comes down to being a few hundred bucks. Thanks Mike!

I just rebuilt one of those last week, cost about ten bucks and only a little work.
I'm also upgrading to the Explorer master cylinder.
I realized after it was reinstalled and I'd already made new brake lines that I could have just plumbed the lines straight without the block which would have been both cheaper and easier, and used the Explorer 'low brake fluid' switch with my dash warning lamp instead.
