I have switched to a van turbo about a year ago because it was free and I was sick of the surging. I installed a OBS wheel at a recommendation of a freind and been thinking of switching to a new ww2 (clays version), I did a little reading and read that the obs wheel stops the surging in the stock turbo and people were saying that you lose hp and a few psi with that wheel..
My van turbo is a 1.10ar. with my stock wheel help light the van turbo better? will it surge in the van turbo? has anyone done the new wheel in the Van turbo?
ive read those. lol Ive since added stage one injectors and tuning from Clay.. Now its a whole new truck, but the turbo does light a bit too late. wont the new lighter wheel spool quicker solving this issue?
I dunno maybe im just used to my truck now but it seems to light real late. the noise that I spoke of was only in crusing say on flat land at 2000rpm @70. I dont care how much noise it makes when working lol..
I'm not sure how much of the lag you will remove without changing the A/R housing since the turbine wheel catching the exhaust gasses is what makes the world turn here. But I would think Duck Fan and Clay would know better on that direct comparison.
