I have looked at every post, images on a web search and YouTube video, can't find the answer laid out..
Chasing the P0401 code I decided to swap the DPFE because it was the original metal one and it seemed a common problem so for 25 bucks its worth a shot. In doing this, I believe I found the hoses swapped, can someone please confirm this is the proper connections from the DPFE to the EGR metal valve tube.
During my poking around the IAC was bad also, I was wondering why the port was completely unplugged/uncapped, that noise the intake made was deafening when I capped up.
The hoses on your DPFE should be two different sizes. One is just a tad bigger than the other. The tubes on the EGR tube should be different sizes also,,one just a tad bigger than the other. I had the same trouble not long ago,, if memory serves the diagram above shows the right way,,, the blue arrows point to where they should go.The difference in the size of the hoses is small but they are a tad different!!!! I have found that sometimes the hoses can be a pain to slip over the EGR tube,,, but if you boil a pan of hot water and place the end of the hoses in it,, the hoses will become more plyable and easier to connect,,,, just wear a pair of gloves the hose ends will be hot to handle.
Thanks. its so damn tight space wise getting the hoses on and off of the EGR tube that I hate to pull them off if I don't need too. I will see if the code clears
