E4OD question
My son has a 1995 f250 4x4 7.3l powerstroke. Earlier this year it lost the convertor clutch. Since it had 200k+ we rebuilt the trans with upgraded convertor and clutches, the pump had some issues so it was also replaced with a rebuilt pump with flow upgrades. When we reinstalled it we put a 6.0l cooler in. The trans works great but when the temp gets over 165*F (measured at the pan) the shift into OD becomes sluggish. As soon as the temperature goes down it returns to normal. Is this something that needs to be addressed? I owned the truck for several years and pulled a gooseneck with it a lot and don't recall it doing this but on the same token I ran in tow haul mode most of the time unless the trailer was empty.
