Anyone have any idea when Ford is going to post the specific towing specs for the specific different truck configurations? When I look under towing specs on Fords 2017 Super Duty site, virtually all the slots under the different truck configurations still show TBD. They list the f250 SRW 4x2, and 350/450 DRW, but nothing for the the 250 4x4 or any of the 350 SRW. I'm just not comfortable ordering a truck without the specifics.
This is simple. These Super Duties will tow more than I will ever need. Period
You say that now but wait until your family needs 2 side-by-side ATVs and the required 40 foot toy hauler to move them. Wait until your buddy asks you to help him tow his 30 foot dump trailer for a weekend because his Chevy is in the shop. Just you wait until the ranch next door needs another motor to help move their livestock and trailer to WY for summer pasture. Just you wait... You're going to love it. You're going to be glad for every lb of capacity.

I have one SxS Ranger and my wife won't get in it. We enjoy the heck out of our slide in camper and pull a boat too. Buddy has an 8 ton g/n which I will be able to pull and when I go to Wyoming it will be with camper and a .300 Win Mag, or maybe just the .270, or maybe both. I hear you about the increased capacity and but I am very happy with where things are for right now. Any increase from the current figures will be relatively small and just for the advert bragging rights. But I do wish my truck was at least scheduled. Have to haul a 1929 Dodge Boat to SanDiego this fall and I would rather use the new one. In fact, I will wait for the new one before the trip.

Look at the specs for the 2016. Do you plan on towing more than that? I doubt it. If they go up slightly more than the '16 model - great! If you are expecting a huge payload increase its not going to happen as Ford put a majority of the weight saved back into making the truck beefier.
Order now or get behind a long line of others......
It doesn't matter how long the line is if what I'm waiting for isn't what I need. I do have a 40' toy hauler that has to carry a Harley Trike in addition to other gear. I don't want DRW because the truck will spend 75% of the time as a daily driver, but I still need to be able to get the toy hauler through the mountains when needed. The 15,900 that the '16 SRW 350 is rated at, isn't enough. So far the specs list the 250 crew 4x2 at 18,000 which should be just enough to allow a little wiggle room. One would reason that the 350 would be more or at least as much, but I want a 4x4 so that will no doubt drop things some. So the fact is, that based on what little I know now, the SRW crew 350 4x4 capacity could be close and I don't want to spend $75 or $80K on something that won't do the job safely & efficiently.

I think the real question you need to ask is....how much are you towing fully loaded? Then look at your pin/hitch weight that might help you out. The 6.7L PS in all the trucks "can" pull 30,000+ lbs, but will the rear axel hold the weight?
The f350 srw platinum at the Denver show had a goose neck tow rating of 20,200#. I suspect the fifth wheel rating is 18k unless you buy your own hitch. Payload was 3103#, so that's probably your limit is you want to stay below the 11500# gvwr. Plenty of room in the 7230# rawr.

First step is to load your trailer and take it to a certified scale and determine how much it weighs, both gross trailer weight and pin weight. What do you pull it with now? If the 6.7 PSD is not enough you should be shopping at KW, Peterbilt, or International for a truck which will hold a larger class engine. What are you hauling it with now? And remember that getting a multiple use truck will always have a little sacrifice at one of the jobs you are asking it to do. One size fits all fits no-one.
