Yep.. Understood Mark. We actually had to sit in traffic going in to Myrtle Beach for about an hour and a half last week. Trans temps got up to 185, but..thats as high as it went. It was very hot so I'm thinking my fan was running most of the time we sat.
EDIT: as a matter of fact, I recently had to replace my radiator. My truck being a late 99 it didn't have the radiator transmission cooler. But I replaced it with a radiator that does have the trans cooler... Just in case. I plugged the inlet/outlet to keep it clean.
I blew out the trans lines and I'm waiting for the bypass valve toCome in, I ordered it from the dealership so it'll be here on Wednesday, I'll replace it and let you all know what happens. Thanks for the help fellas
Okay fellas I blew out the lines and it's been fine, I drove around for an hour today nonstop and it was 95 degrees out, temp guage never moved. I'm assuming the lines were clogged. I never put the valve on, I was wondering if you guys think I should put it on or return it. Does a bad bypass valve clog the lines or are they separate things?

Where did you get your replacement rad? What was the brand name?
So what I discovered over the weekend is that my radiator does not have a trans cooler in it. I only have the small external trans cooler. So I may install a new radiator with the trans cooler and use some rubber oil line hose to add it to the circuit. Gives me a chance to flush my coolant system in the process.
