Been watching and reading some info on some things i can address while my trucks still empty of fluids and tore apart. Would the IPR valve be something to do as pre maintenance or wait till it fails. Also some people say after rebuilding the old one the truck ran like crap and some even had to buy a new valve anyway my truck has 260,000 miles on it with original ipr still installed. Should i spend 20 on a rebuild kit or 200 on a new one or just dont fix whats not broken yet.

I have done both. I have not had a rebuild/ re ring failure, but I have had a brand new one stick open. If you don't have any problems, I would simply pull it, o ring it but sikip cleaning unless you have surgical cleanliness as any bits of dirt can stick it and then you would need to pull it again.
Plus, the cost of a new one is quite pricey as you know. Avoid aftermarket icp and ipr at all costs in my opinion.
